Reduce Swelling: The pressure from compression socks also helps reduce swelling, which is common in people with neuropathy. By reducing swelling, these socks can alleviate some of the pain and discomfort associated with this condition.

Provide Support and Comfort: Compression socks can provide support and comfort for painful feet and legs. Some people with neuropathy find that wearing compression socks helps reduce their symptoms.

Prevent Further Complications: For individuals with diabetic neuropathy, compression socks can help prevent further complications like ulcers or skin changes. They can also reduce the risk of deep vein thrombosis.

Shin Splints: The increased pressure provides relief and can help reduce pain by reducing inflammation, swelling, and soreness in the muscles. Compression socks also help improve circulation in the lower legs, which can help to reduce stress on the muscles. This can really help in limiting pain from shin splints, especially during high traffic travel days and hikes. Combined with your favorite pain relief cream and Gua Sha, compression socks can help fight shin splints.

My Experience

I’ve been using compression socks for a while now and I can’t say enough good things about them. I started out using them for shin splint pain but soon incorporated them in travel, but I soon found they were great for hiking too. The extra cushioning around my ankle, calf, heel and toe helped me feel less muscle fatigue, which made me feel like I could go further and have more fun on the road. Plus, with the extra cushioning, I was able to walk on rougher terrain without fully infalmming my Plantar Fasciitis. They are not a cure by any means but they do help greatly with fatigue.

Today, I personally wear copper fit short compression socks daily and on long trips, I wear calf high compression socks the whole time. Their ability to improve circulation throughout the leg, allows me to stay active throughout the day without the worry of insanely sore feet. Don’t get me wrong, my feet are still soar.
